The ORICIO lounger is woven by hand from 500 cable ties, forming organic loops. ORICIO explores weaving as a contemporary practice:
The everyday cable tie becomes thread; the gesture of the hand becomes method. Through patient repetition, hundreds of loops accumulate into a circular topography.
A material once meant for fixing and fastening becomes a carrier of rhythm and pattern, a sculptural form that oscillates between sculpture and seat. Soft within and unexpectedly comfortable, it invites lingering; structure and pliancy enter into dialogue as the surface yields while retaining its inner order.
Alexander Rehn’s early exploration of cable ties as a design element evolved into ORICIO, a handcrafted piece that unites craft and concept, art and design.

Handwoven from 500 Cable Ties.
